GM to lay off today roughly 1,000 people World wide

General Motors Co. (GM) announced a reduction of approximately 1,000 positions worldwide as part of its ongoing efforts to optimize operations and improve efficiency. A significant portion of these layoffs occurred at the company’s Global Technical Center in Warren, Michigan. The move impacts both salaried and hourly employees across various departments.

Strategic Workforce Restructuring

The layoffs are part of a broader reorganization initiative aimed at enhancing the company’s competitiveness in a rapidly evolving automotive industry. According to GM spokesperson Kevin Kelly, the adjustments are intended to align the organization’s structure with its strategic priorities.
